Pierre Monteux School & Music Festival: Sunday Symphony Concerts at 5 pm

Six weekly symphonic concerts are held to provide an opportunity for conductors and instrumentalists to perform works from the curriculum in front of a live audience. In addition, five weekly chamber-style concerts, known as “Maine Chamber Music,” are organized by members of the Monteux Festival Orchestra. All concerts are held in our Forest Studio. This revered fairytale—a timeless family favorite—tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. All of the fanciful characters, such as a talking tightly wound clock (the butler), adorable tea cup (a young boy), and a kindhearted candelabra (maître d’), are trapped in this spellbound form until the beast, can learn to love and have his love returned. But time is running out.
