A low tide-scape at Kettle Cove, Maine

A crunchy, crusty walk over a low tide-scape finds unburied treasures and bounty of the sea. So many shells: Muscles, clams, horseshoe crab, stars, tiny sea snails; rocks of every size and color, coated with sun baked seaweed holding salty puddles tapped by the last wave gone with its last outgoing tide. The scene looks like another world . . . and when you think about it . . . it is! It’s land from under the sea and for about six hours every day we get to explore it. The Maine coast is an amazing place to visit and live!
